6:15pm - 7:00pm Architecture and MEP on multifamily/hospitality and groups
Presented by Heather Worrell, RATIO Architects and Alex Jonovski, KLH Engineers

When working in the multifamily, hospitality, and even healthcare sectors, having repetitive elements that work consistently from schematic design to construction administration is imperative for architects. During construction documentation, having the ability to make changes across multiple rooms is something that needs to happen on a relatively frequent basis. Often the architect doesn't consider the impacts their moves and modifications have on the MEP consultant model - impacts that occur across hundreds of rooms, leaving the MEP consultant to review the placement of many elements during each model exchange. KLH has developed tools that allow their engineers to work efficiently in this type of project environment. KLH and RATIO have worked together to develop strategies to better communicate locations for elements in a model group environment. As an architect, you will learn how to communicate more effectively in the model environment with your consulting engineer and learn some tools to make your projects using groups work more consistently and efficiently. As a MEP consultant, you will learn how to more easily set up your model from the beginning and manage the changes that will inevitably come your way.
